Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis to adopters with a reviewed and approved Adoption Questionnaire.
Animals may be put on a 24 hour hold by interested adopters with an approved Questionnaire and having met the animal in person. Holds may be extended if an animal is not ready to go to their new home yet, medical or stray hold.
Get a head start on the adoption process by filling out an Adoption Questionnaire before your visit. This form tells us about your home and what type of pet will suit you best. It will save you time during your visit to the shelter.
If you are interested in adopting, please come visit the animals in the shelter. You can find out a bit about each animal from their kennel card, but if you have additional questions please ask! We will try our best to honestly answer any question you have regarding an animal’s health or behavior. Keep in mind we may not know them that well yet; we can only go by what we have observed or what was reported to us from their former home or their finder. Many animals’ behavior can change once out of the stressful shelter environment, so keep that in mind when you are visiting new potential furry family members.
If you are interested in adopting a dog and currently have a dog in your family, we request that you bring your dog to meet your new potential dog. We encourage you to come visit the dogs on your own first; if you find one that you are interested in you can put the dog on hold to bring your dog in for a meet and greet.
