For some shelter dogs, finding a home is just the beginning of their journey. That’s why we’ve created a canine scholarship fund to provide low-cost and no-cost training for dogs adopted from our shelter. You can help a shelter dog make their new home a forever home by donating to our new scholarship fund.
This scholarship was created in honor of Bojangles, who lived at Heartland for 7 months while waiting for his forever home. During that time, he earned a special place in the hearts of all our staff and volunteers. Training and enrichment were essential to caring for Bojangle’s mental and emotional health while he waited for his new family to find him. Training also gave Bojangles the skills to be successful once adopted.
This program allows dogs to work with the same trainer they knew at the shelter! Services include:
- Relationship building
- Creating Confidence
- Canine Communication
- Canine Enrichment
- Behavioral Consults
- Obedience Training
