Adopt your new best friend!

View adoptable animal listings to find out more about the animals available for adoption now.

Or visit the shelter! You can meet with available animals any time during open shelter hours.

Information about each animal’s health, behavior, and more will be on their listing online and on their kennel card at the shelter. Note we can only go by what we have observed or what was reported to us from their former home, their finder, or their foster. Many animals’ behavior can change once out of the stressful shelter environment, so keep that in mind when you are visiting new potential furry family members.

We require that animals are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Making a good match is our highest priority.

We can counsel you on safely introducing a new pet into the home, and will always take our animals back if an adoption does not work out. Dog adopters with a current dog should arrange with staff for a dog-to-dog meet to help ensure the match is compatible.

Adoption fees must be paid at the time of adoption (see below for a table of current adoption fees).

Heartland will always take animals back if an adoption does not work out.
