823 cats were adopted from Heartland Humane in 2020!

Adoptions are by appointment.

*Due to COVID-19 restrictions on public entry, we are unable to place holds on animals that are ready and able to leave the shelter. Exceptions may be made for animals with special needs, such as those that require multiple meets before going home with their adopters. We thank you for your understanding.*

Make an appointment to meet our adoptable cats and kittens.

To set up an appointment, fill out an online adoption application: Cat Adoption Questionnaire

  • Staff will contact you to schedule an appointment once your application has been received.
  • During your appointment, you will be able to walk through our catteries to see our adoptable cats and kittens.
  • Some animals will require more than one meeting with their potential adopter before they can be adopted. In this case, we will work out a schedule with you to facilitate multiple appointments with that animal.
  • Due to safety restrictions on public access to the shelter, we cannot place holds on animals that are ready and able to leave the shelter. If the animal you are interested in does not require multiple adoption meetings, please come to your appointment ready to take them home that day.

Email adopt@heartlandhumane.org with questions about adoptions or individual cats.
