166 dogs were adopted from our shelter in 2021.

Dog Adoption

Adoptable dogs are shown outside, as we are unable to host the public in our dog kennels. In addition to adoptable pets, our dog kennels house strays, dogs involved in law enforcement situations, and emergency boarding clients in our Safe Housing Program. In lieu of visiting the dogs in their kennels, you can view all of our adoptable dogs on our website or via a binder in our lobby, and then tell staff which you would like to meet.

While you do not need an appointment to visit our shelter during our open hours, we are unable to guarantee that staff will be available to show our dogs to walk-in adopters. If you would like to guarantee your ability to visit with our adoptable dogs, you can do so by scheduling an appointment. The first step is to fill out our dog adoption questionnaire, found here:

After you’ve submitted your questionnaire, staff will contact you to verify your application and send you a link to schedule an appointment. If the dog you are interested in does not require multiple adoption meetings, please come to your appointment ready to take them home that day. We are currently unable to place holds on our adoptable dogs. Even if you do not plan to schedule an appointment, filling out our questionnaire ahead of time can help speed things up when you are at the shelter.
